Ric Flair signs multi-year deal with AEW

The “Nature Boy” Ric Flair has wrestled for nearly every major wrestling promotion that has ever existed, and he can now add AEW to that list.

Flair shocked the world when he was unveiled as Tony Khan’s surprise for Sting on the Oct. 25, 2023 edition of AEW Dynamite, where he stated that he was going to join The Icon for the ride as Sting had announced the week prior he would be hanging up his boots at the Revolution pay-per-view in 2024.

With Revolution slated to take place in late February or early March, fans believed that they would see Ric on their screens for just a couple of months. However, that isn’t the case as it was announced on Nov. 2, 2023, that the 16-time World Champion has signed a multi-year deal with All Elite Wrestling, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com.

Not only will Ric Flair be a member of the AEW roster, but his energy drink “Wooooo! Energy” will be the exclusive energy drink for All Elite Wrestling. Select venues that host AEW events will carry the beverage at their concession stands, and wrestlers backstage will also be able to enjoy the drink as it will be readily available in the locker rooms.

The two-time WWE Hall of Famer wrestled his last match on July 31, 2022, where he and his son-in-law Andrade El Idolo defeated fellow AEW stars Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett in a tag team match at the event fittingly called “Ric Flair’s Last Match.”

With that in mind, it’s safe to say that Flair won’t be getting in the ring during his time with AEW, but as the old saying goes in professional wrestling: Never say never!
