Have we seen the last of Justin Jefferson this season? Are we positive the former LSU wide receiver won’t shut it down for the rest of the 2023-24 NFL Season? Jefferson is dealing with a hamstring injury that’s supposed to take him out for 4-6 weeks. But… what if we’re looking at this totally wrong?
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room. The Vikings suck.
Let’s talk about the other elephant in the room. Jefferson still hasn’t been paid.
If the Vikings are 2-10 when Jefferson is ready to play again, why would he even risk going back out there? I think that’s something fantasy football managers need to start thinking about. Don’t forget, the Rams were faced with virtually this same position a year ago. The Rams decided to shut Cooper Kupp down for the season.
If you’re a Jefferson owner in redraft leagues, I’d be looking to sell. Really this comes down to how the rest of the year goes for Minnesota. If they can pick up a few wins, maybe Jefferson will return. Still, I don’t see how you can count on that given how this team has looked all year.
Maybe I’m overthinking it but the point is, Jefferson fantasy owners need to pay close attention to how the rest of the year goes for the Vikings while he’s out. If they keep losing, I don’t see why he comes back. If you can trade him for a quality return in redraft leagues, I’d seriously contemplate doing just that.
