Why Would Nick Nurse Leave Toronto For The Lakers?

It’s the arrogance really. I guess maybe there isn’t anything wrong with shooting your shot but when does delusion start to kick in. Do the Lakers honestly for one second believe Nick Nurse (while under contract) is leaving Toronto for the Lakers? No chance they actually believe this, right?

My favorite part of this rumor is the idea that Nurse is the preferred choice by LeBron James and Anthony Davis. As if LeBron actually ever allows himself to actually be coach. This is the same guy that wanted Erik Spoelstra fired because he didn’t think Spo was a good coach.

Nobody caters to LeBron anymore. When you do, you get what happens this year. The ghost of Westbrook ruining everything in his path. Who wants to sign up for this? Especially considering that LeBron has just one year left on his contract and we know he’s probably going. It’s a bad basketball team with a murky future at best.

These coaches talk. Nobody with a shred of self respect like Nurse is signing up for this job. Did anybody see that shit show Frank Vogel press conference? Vogel is a championship winning coach and the Lakers treated him like the local peasant in charge of shining shoes. It’s embarrassing and frankly insulting to suggest a top five coach like Nurse wants this job.

Nurse also has all the job security in the world. They will never fire him. Nurse and Masai Ujiri are tied to the hip. Do you trust Ujiri to build a future roster or do you want LeBron in your ear trying to tell you how they should sell the farm to go get John Wall? It’s not a discussion.

The Lakers have been embarrassed.

I’m tired of it. I really am. It’s the arrogance really. This Lakers team didn’t even make the play-in game. They suck on every level. The Raptors are a significantly better job than the Lakers are right now which says everything you need to know.
