Super Bowl LVIII is finally here. Al Davis is currently screaming in his grave as it features a matchup between the 49ers and Chiefs as they roam his facilities in Las Vegas. VSM will feature previews on both teams heading into the big game. Here is why the San Francisco 49ers will win Super Bowl LVIII!
Football is a team sport despite whatever idiot in the media wants to tell you differently. If you compare overall rosters, there is no question that the 49ers are the better team. During the regular season, San Francisco was a +193. The Chiefs were only at +77.
The 49ers A+ game is better than the Chiefs. We just haven’t seen it during the playoffs yet. With everything on the line, you would have to imagine we get the best version of the 49ers.
The Chiefs really aren’t a good team. They’re a well-coached team that has an identity and it’s working to perfection. If you can weather the early storm, the 49ers should win this game.
During the second half of games this postseason, Kansas City is averaging eight points. Yes, you read that right. A Patrick Mahomes offense is averaging eight points per game in the second half of the playoffs and they keep winning. Good luck against this team.
This team has found a way to build an early lead and then hang on for dear life. You can’t just rest on your laurels against the 49ers. If the 49ers can punch early, I’m not sure KC has the firepower to come back like they did in the Super Bowl when Jimmy Garoppolo was the quarterback.
Andy Reid almost never loses with time to prepare. Except Kyle Shanahan isn’t your average foe. He’s also got the greatest consigliere with his dad Mike Shanahan who he constantly bounces ideas off of. Shanahan has the perfect team to finally capture his Lombardi Trophy.
Hall of Fame left tackle. Arguably the best pass rusher in the league. A mountain of weapons including a tight end who serves as a 6th offensive lineman while creating big plays down the field.
What makes San Francisco so good is the scheme and ability to send versatile players in motion. Deebo Samuel can play running back and wide receiver. Ditto for Christian McCaffrey. When using both of those players at the same time, it causes nightmare match ups for defenses.
Can the Chiefs even stop the run? They didn’t against Buffalo.
Do the Chiefs have a corner that can tackle Deebo? I don’t think so.
The time for Shanahan is now. It’s his trophy to lose.
