Who Would You Rather Have? Ronald Acuna Jr Or Juan Soto

Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr and Nationals left fielder Juan Soto are two of the most dynamic players in all of baseball. They both have amazing attributes and possess tools that put them into the elite category.

Soto offensively is perhaps the best player in all of baseball in terms of batting average and hitting. He is on another level with many comparing the 22-year-old to Hall of Famer Ted Williams. Between his rookie year in 2018 to last season, he’s averaging 36 home runs, 113 runs batted in, a .973 on-base plus slugging, and a .295 batting average. Last season he led the Majors in On-base percentage and slugging percentage, and the National League in batting average at .351. His career-high in home runs tops at 34 in 2018. Last season, he took home a Silver Slugger.

Acuna also has a tendency to wow crowds with how great he is all around the field as a true five-tool player. Offensively he is a perfect storm. Although his average has never approached .300, he still has a modest career average of .285. To make it even better, he has godlike power. In 2019, he hit 41 home runs and drove in 101 runs batted in. To top it off, he also stole 37 bases, joining the elusive 30-30 club. He earned a trip to the all-star game and has taken home two silver slugger awards. He also won Rookie of the Year in 2018.

So who would you rather have on your team? I went ahead and asked members of Vendetta who they would choose. Here are their responses.

“Give me Acuna. There is nothing that man cannot do on a baseball field. Soto’s offensive value is unreal. But I don’t think the drop off in hitting is that steep to Acuna and Acuna is a plus in basically everything else.” – Karl Heiser @karlheiser17

“I think I’d have to go with Acuna because of the speed he possesses over Soto. I feel like they are so neck and neck in every other category but Acuna being faster is what I want.” – Christian Lathrope @Clathrope34

“Even I go with Acuna.” – Liz Valade @91Valade (Nationals fan)

“Soto. I like his bat more. Great plate discipline. Guy sees everything. On base all the time.” – Trey Daubert @treydaubert

“Soto. Proven himself in the postseason and is the younger of the two I know only by a little bit still. Defensively like milo said he has a missile attached to his arm” – Garrett Burroughs @notorious_gmb
