Welcome to another part of the “Who The Fuck Is That Guy” series. “Who The Fuck Is That Guy” is how we end every episode of the Vendetta Sports Fantasy Show on our Youtube Channel. Everyone gives a player that no one has heard of and no one will ever draft. Yet somehow, someway they will win you your fantasy football league. Today we’re looking at Salvon Ahmed, running back for the San Francisco 49ers and Trey’s pick in episode 5.

Background Information

Salvon Ahmed was signed by the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent after the 2020 NFL Draft. Ahmed played college football at the University of Washington. He had a solid 3 year career before declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft. Ahmed ran a 4.62 40-yard dash and stands at 5’11 and weighs 196 pounds.

College Production

Salvon Ahmed played college football at the University of Washington. He steadily improved throughout his 3-year college career. Ahmed had 388 yards on 61 carries in 2017, he also scored 3 rushing touchdowns. In 2018, Ahmed had 608 rushing yards on 104 carries while also scoring 7 touchdowns. Finally, in 2019 Ahmed had 1020 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns on 188 carries. Ahmed only had 353 total carries and 50 career catches. He’s fresh and explosive as he averaged 5.7 yards per carry in college. He’s a big play waiting to happen, he will shock the NFL.

Fantasy Football Potential

What do you need in fantasy football? Big plays and touchdowns. Salvon Ahmed can bring both. Ahmed averaged 5.7 yards per carry and 6.6 yards per reception. Ahmed had over 1000 rushing yards with only 188 carries. That’s being effective with touches and being able to simply produce when called upon. Give Ahmed the rock, he can play. Also, all San Francisco running backs are valuable. Raheem Mostert averaged 5.6 yards per carry for the 49ers last year. Who the hell heard of Raheem Mostert before he exploded with Kyle Shanahan? Give me San Francisco running backs all damn day in fantasy football.

Salvon Ahmed’s Path To Playing Time

Salvon Ahmed has a very difficult path to playing time but it’s still a realistic path. Ahmed is not even listed on the 49ers depth chart. However, that is extremely likely to change. Raheem Mostert has requested a trade, the 49ers made him and can make other players perform like him. Ahmed can sneak his way up the depth chart as the 49ers never have a main bell-cow running back. Jerick McKinnon is always hurt so that’s another running back out of the way. Ahmed will climb up the depth chart, he will get a solid volume of touches and he will produce with those touches. Salvon Ahmed will be a great free agent to pick up after your fantasy draft.
