One of the biggest underrated NBA stories of the 2023 NBA Free Agency period is The Amateur NBA Analyst on Twitter. His Twitter handle was @DroppingDimes20. However, his account was quickly deactivated by Twitter. That didn’t stop the ‘The Amatuer NBA Analyst” though. He has a new Twitter account with the Twitter handle @DroppingDimes50 and goes by the name Dropping Dimes. He hasn’t been wrong on that much, and if he was wrong, it was very minor. So what’s the story on Dropping Dimes Twitter?
I won’t go out to say that he is a must-follow or that he’s a reliable source with such little sample size to show for it. However, when a guy is right, he’s right. He has predicted Fred VanVleet to the Rockets, Khris Middleton back to the Bucks, Bruce Brown to the Pacers (on his old account), and there was more on his older account before it got deactivated.
Who is this dude? Is it an AI? Are they finally taking over and having (correct) NBA leaks? Is it the Illuminati of the NBA circles? Why was he deactivated on his old account? Was it because he self-identified as an NBA analyst even though he said amateur? Was he saying things he wasn’t supposed to know? WHO IS THIS GUY?!
That might be the underrated story of the NBA Free Agency, who is Dropping Dimes Twitter and where did he come from? Will he continue to drop dimes? (Sorry, I know that was corny). Will he ever reveal himself or stay incognito? Either way, he’s already made quite the impression on NBA Twitter despite not being on there long. I wouldn’t say he should be trusted 100%, but maybe he knows something we don’t. Does he know something Woj or Shams doesn’t know? He might be the Illuminati of the NBA circles, but at least he is worth the follow on Twitter.
