Way Too Early 2023 NFL Draft Quarterback Rankings

The 2022 NFL Draft is officially in the books which means it’s NEVER too early to start talking draft! That’s right, we are dropping our way too early 2023 NFL Draft rankings. Up first is the quarterback class which appears to be way more intriguing than the one this year. Let’s go over the list of names you should know!

1. Bryce Young (Alabama)

I don’t anticipate this ranking changing over the course of the year. The Heisman Trophy winner returns for what is likely to be his final collegiate season. I think this dude is so damn talented.

I rarely ever use this comp but Young feels like an Aaron Rodgers type of guy. So smart, makes ridiculous throws off platform, never panic, turns chicken shit into chicken salad, very accurate, super twitchy and mobile. Just damn good.

Honestly, I don’t think I need to see anymore. I know what I’m getting here. Young should develop into an elite level franchise quarterback at the next level. He has just about everything you’re looking for.

2. DJ Uiagalelei (Clemson)

I’m still a DJ believer. I better be considering I took him really high in my fantasy draft. It wasn’t a great year for Clemson in general. Uiagalelei still has stupid talent. Rocket arm. Huge body. Moves better than he should. Beyond Young, I just think DJ has a chance to be one of these ninja robot quarterbacks like Josh Allen. This is a BIG year for him.

3. CJ Stroud (Ohio State)

Hard to ignore what Stroud did this past year. Guy looked borderline unplayable to start the year. I thought he was going to get benched. By the end of the year, Stroud is dropping 46 touchdowns on our heads. He played out of his mind the final few games of the season.

Accurate, mobile, and can make big throws down the field. Not like this matters but I want to see him without Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave. You can’t understate what those two guys did for this offense.

4. Phil Jerkovec (Boston College)

Bit of an older guy. Kinda surprised he went back to school but understandable given the injury. More of an old school drop back passer. Still not sure he can even play. The arm is intriguing. Needs a Kenny Pickett type breakout season to remain on the list. I think he can do it. Far from a guarantee. Very inconsistent.

5. Spencer Rattler (South Carolina)

I’m putting Rattler five even though I barely believe it myself. The talent is there. That’s not a question. Dude can run and his arm is made of rocket fuel. Just looks like an idiot on and off the field. If Rattler can perform in the SEC on a bad South Carolina team, it really helps his case. The range of outcomes here feels wide.
