The VGK Haters Are Absolutely Pathetic

Gavin recently wrote an article that basically summarizes the thoughts of many hockey fans. Let’s all cheer because the Vegas Golden Knights missed the playoffs! Now it’s time for me to do my rant because only one thing is clear after reading Gavin’s post. The VGK haters are pathetic and should be considered detriments to society.

I don’t know about you but I like to root for things that are well run. I don’t invest my time into things that I don’t consider to be good businesses. I take Uber. If you want to continue to ride in taxis, be my guest. Root and utilize successful businesses.

The VGK successfully made the Stanley Cup Finals as an expansion team. I’m sorry if that offends you but maybe the rest of the league is the real problem. The fact that there are people rejoicing because a team simply missed the playoffs for the first time ever is so sad and pathetic it makes me giggle inside.

Additionally, this so called “cheating” is also an incredibly fascinating topic. I want ALL of my teams to cheat. As a fan, you should root for your team to circumvent the rules. You mean my team cares enough to try to find any possible advantage? Yeah, I’ll root for them. You know who sucks to root for? The Arizona Coyotes. I’m sure they follow all of the rules and they SUCK. I root for those teams to lose. The ones who are dysfunctional and are forced to play in a college arena.

Also, it’s not cheating. If teams want to put people on LTIR to mess around with the cap, they are free to do so. The commissioner of the NHL doesn’t even consider it a problem. The rules are the rules and every team in the NHL followed them. If the fans want to cry about things that don’t exist, let them be miserable somewhere else.

Here is an idea, maybe the reason the VGK missed the playoffs is because their three highest paid forwards missed more than half the season. Probably not a recipe for success. I don’t know about you but I don’t cheer for guys getting hurt.

Mark Stone is suffering from a degenerative back condition. I can tell you from personal experience that stuff never goes away and it’s tough to live with. The haters don’t care. They want Stone to end up in a wheel chair. For the record, Stone was legitimately hurt. He gutted it out for the team and recorded just one point in nine games after returning. We know the captain is a much better player than that when healthy and probably needs a full offseason to recover.

Then there are people roasting Jack Eichel for missing the playoffs. We already know those people are ignorant and aren’t knowledgeable about anything. Eichel is amazing and frankly played out of his mind coming back rather quickly from a serious neck surgery. The haters somehow believe Eichel deserves bad karma because he decided he wasn’t going to get a neck procedure the team wanted him to get that would have forced him to have serious issues later in life. You can’t fix stupid.

I haven’t even gotten to Alec Martinez who literally almost got forced to retire. It was a team ravaged by injuries. It happens. Sometimes things don’t go your way. Why we’re cheering for a team to miss the playoffs because they got rocked by injuries is SAD.

There is only one message for the VGK haters. You’re all pathetic. Go be miserable somewhere else. If you have haters, it means you’re doing something right. The VGK are a really talented team that will be back next season.
