Trey Knox 2024 NFL Draft Profile

Hey, look… it’s another Trey! It’s another Trey that I’ve actually been fond of in the past too. We’re talking Trey Knox so let’s dive into his 2024 NFL Draft Profile!

Knox is a player I’ve been in on for a long time. He spent four years at Arkansas and was frequently mentioned in the notes when he played for the Hogs. Transferred to South Carolina to wrap up his college career. Also have some notes on Knox during this past year. The pure stats aren’t going to blow you away. Knox finished the 2023 season as a 5th year player with 37 receptions for 317 yards and two touchdowns.

We know the deal with a majority of the tight end position when it comes to the draft. Knox is the epitome of it. You’re throwing darts. It’s about making the best and most calculated dart throw. If you’re going to take one in this class, Knox might be the best flier to take.

Checks in at 6-foot-3, 240. Former three star guy out of the state of Tennessee. Has a wide receiver background. Going to be a Big F at the NFL level. Weird one to evaluate athletically. Doesn’t have an extensive route tree and not overly fast. Looked alright on the field at the Combine. It kinda feels like you’re always wanting more out of the player and we’re still waiting for it. Decent play speed but slow reaction speed. Just times that he can’t locate the ball and finish through contact. You can see the wide out in him. Better blocker than he gets credit for but not going to be in-line.

Looks much better once he completes the catch. Has some wow moments in terms of transitioning into a runner. Former high jump champion in high school and will be a red zone threat. Super long wingspan and a tough matchup. Teams struggling knowing who to have him cover. Doesn’t get stuck in the mud and can create after the catch.

Later rounds of the draft, I have no issue taking a shot on Trey Knox. Could very well be the next Juwan Johnson. I like him probably more than most and think there is at least something to work with here.
