Tom Segura: Ball Hog Netflix Review
Coronavirus has turned the world upside down. Everybody has been forced to watch things that aren’t sports-related. I would love to know how corona has impact Netflix’s viewership. Anyway, I thought it would be a good idea to review some of the content I’ve watched during the corona break. One of the best things I’ve seen yet is the Tom Segura Ball Hog Netflix comedy special. Let’s review why you should watch it without giving away too much.
I absolutely love this special. Tom Segura nails it out of the park with Ball Hog. There are a couple things that really stood out too me. I don’t pretend to be a film expert but if you are in need of a laugh, turn this on. I also recently talked about this on the podcast with Chach.
Segura has a line in the show that is funny because it’s the last thing you expect him to say. “ride or die, bitch”. He also does this thing where he sets up a bit and then somehow mixes it into a bit that’s done 20 minutes later and you don’t see it coming. It’s so brilliant. There’s also a dark sense of humor, which I love. Segura finds a way to surprise you which makes it even funnier.
There were some really relatable jokes in there as well. Do you ever get stuck in a conversation that’s so boring you feel poisoned? Perfect, I’ve been there. Segura is also able to bring up serious topics like protecting the environment or gender roles and turns them into jokes that you have to laugh at.
Even if you’re not a stand-up person, I would still encourage you to watch it. Nothing is worse than watching a stand-up comic who just isn’t funny and I’m a tough critic. Segura brings it for over an hour in a special that it’s impossible not to laugh.
