Tom Brady Tossed The Trophy Like It Was Trash

The G.O.A.T Tom Brady was on The Late Late Show With James Corden last night, and he didn’t seem to have a vivid recollection of the Super Bowl parade. Brady’s memory was especially fuzzy during the moment when he tossed the Lombardi Trophy across the water to his teammate, Cameron Brate.

Everyone knows the infamous story of the Super Bowl parade on the water, featuring members of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization on their yachts and boats. And everyone remembers watching the viral videos of Tom Brady stumbling back onto land with his entourage holding him up because he was supposedly drunk off his ass.

Yet all of this great internet content seemed to slip Brady’s mind, and he had a hilarious interview with James Corden where he attempted to explain the reasoning behind his ‘lit’ celebration, as the kids would say.

Specifically, when he threw the trophy, Brady said:

“First of all, I was not thinking at that moment. It was not a thought. It was, ‘This seems really fun to do.’ Not to mention, when you get your hands on one of those trophies, there’s a lot of really sharp edges on the bottom. … I found out later, had that been an incomplete pass, that would have went down like 80 feet. I’m so happy that (tight end) Cam (Brate) caught it.”

If anything, Tom Brady throwing a Lombardi Trophy for the fun of it just shows the football world that he’s actually having fun again playing football at the ripe age of 43. Either that or he treats winning Super Bowl trophies like finding a quarter on the street, he could just walk right by one and not care.

Sea Legs? Or Drunk Off Tequila?

To cap off the interview, Corden rolled the clip of Tom Brady walking off of his boat after the parade, where he looked like a drunk college kid getting escorted out of a club. Following the parade, Brady posted that video on his social media accounts with the caption:

“Noting to see her…just litTle avoCado tequila”

The caption alone should indicate that Brady was under the influence, but Brady put things to rest on Corden’s show. Corden asked:

“Is this sea legs? Or dare I say it, a touch of tequila?”

Brady then chuckled and replied:

“I think a little of both. It was definitely a moment of celebration. I’m happy I’m on land at that point.”

Wow. I was already a Patriots fan and Tom Brady fan before he went to Tampa Bay and all of this stuff went viral. But man, how can anyone hate Brady after watching him party almost as hard as Rob Gronkowski?
