Coming off the heels of what was another great performance by Logan Paul against Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 39, the social media superstar has signed a contract extension with the WWE.
Paul has seemingly impressed fans and critics with each of his matches thus far. Head of WWE Creative, Triple H, obviously has a lot of confidence in Paul as well, as each of his matches have come against marquee stars for the company.
With the news of Paul renewing his WWE contract, now is the perfect time to take a look at some potential opponents for Paul moving forward.
Paul made his big return to the WWE at this year’s Royal Rumble match where he was a surprise entrant. The bigger surprise came when he eliminated Seth Rollins, planting the seeds for their future match at WrestleMania. However, the most memorable part of the night for Paul involved a different wrestler, Ricochet. In arguably the most exciting spot of the night, Paul and Ricochet both spring boarded off the top rope and collided in mid air.
It was a show defining moment that fans will continue to talk about for years to come. That moment alone planted the seed in fans minds of a future feud between the two. Ricochet is one of the most athletic wrestlers on the WWE roster. His skillset would be the perfect compliment to Paul’s in an eventual matchup and could definitely elevate the careers of both men.
This match may not be able to happen until a little while down the road, but it feels inevitable. This a big money match that has the potential to main event a huge event for the WWE. Logan Paul and his brother, Jake, are arguably the biggest social media influencers in the world, especially when it comes to combat sports.
We got a taste of this matchup when Logan Paul took on Roman Reigns in a losing effort for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in Saudi Arabia at WWE Crown Jewel. Jake Paul accompanied Logan to the ring and even had an altercation with Jimmy Uso. The Usos are coming off being apart of the first tag team title match to main event WrestleMania and there is really no other team better suited to take them on.
The Pauls vs. The Usos is a match fans deserve.
John Cena is arguably the biggest crossover celebrity to ever come out of the WWE. Even if somebody has no idea what the WWE is, they almost definitely know who John Cena is. This match has main event written all over it. There may not be a better match up from the outside looking in as far as the story is concerned.
John Cena is the first person almost everyone thinks of when they hear the words WWE. He has dedicated half his life to the company and providing moment after moment for the WWE universe. He has based his entire career on hustle, loyalty, and respect. In return, the WWE has provided Cena with opportunity he may never have found elsewhere.
On the other hand, Logan Paul is essentially the opposite. He is someone who was given this opportunity in the WWE because of his celebrity status outside of the company. He was catapulted to the main event in his third career match. Paul is essentially the definition of what diehard WWE fans are against. Cena understands better than anyone else the amount of work that it takes to be a star in the WWE, making him the perfect person to represent the fans against Paul.
