Three potential major returns at ROH Final Battle

Ring of Honor has been home to some of wrestling’s biggest names over the years. Many legends of the sport made their name in ROH before moving on to WWE and other companies.

Ever since Tony Khan purchased ROH, some fans have complained it lacks its rough and independent feel it once had. What better way to get back to that than having some Ring of Honor legends make their return to the company at the last ROH pay-per-view of the year?

1. CM Punk

CM Punk is one of the biggest names in wrestling and is an ROH legend. One could assume he and Khan currently don’t have the best relationship based on everything that has gone down between Punk and AEW.

The main selling point here is Punk brings in views and money. They might even be able to base the storyline on Punk refusing to wrestle for AEW and only shows his face on ROH events. Say what you want about Punk, but he was a pioneer for Ring of Honor, and it would be a massive moment.

2. Nigel McGuinness

Nigel McGuinness worked with WWE’s NXT UK for the last several years. Now that NXT UK has disbanded, it makes perfect sense for him to return to ROH.

He hasn’t wrestled in a decent amount of time, but I am willing to be he has still got it. Imagine Daniel Garcia retaining the ROH Pure Championship just to be greeted by the man who held the same title for a record time. Garcia vs. McGuinness would truly be a multigenerational banger.

3. Adam Cole

Adam Cole is one of the biggest signings Khan has ever made. Being able to have him return on the last pay-per-view of the year would be huge for both AEW and ROH.

Cole is a top tier superstar. When AEW managed to grab him, I saw it as a huge loss for WWE. Having Cole return to confront Chris Jericho would send the crowd into a frenzy. It could spark a huge rivalry between the Undisputed Elite and the Jericho Appreciation Society.
