CM Punk has been at the top of wrestling headlines over the past couple of days. Punk made his much anticipated in-ring return in late August after suffering a foot injury a few months prior. The match didn’t go as planned as he lost the world title in about five minutes to Jon Moxley on AEW Dynamite. But the two had a rematch in which Punk bet Moxley to regain the title. But Punk making headlines isn’t for his World Championship win against Jon Moxley at All Out, but rather for what he said and did after the show.
During the media scrum, CM Punk aired out some dirty laundry involving him and Colt Cabana. He proceeded to call out the EVPs of AEW, Kenny Omega, Hangman Page, as well as Matt and Nick Jackson. After the media scrum, CM Punk was confronted by several AEW stars. The confrontation has been labeled as a “melee” with multiple people involved. Allegedly, the confrontation involved punches being thrown as well as biting and a chair getting thrown. It’s hard to pin down what’s true and what’s not as no one who is close to the incident is really talking.
No punishment has been dealt out from the incident until now. As reported by Sports Illustrated, AEW has handed out some suspensions for those involved including Omega, Nick and Matt Jackson, Pat Buck, Christopher Daniels, Michael Nakazawa, and Brandon Cutler. Also, CM Punk reportedly met with Tony Khan, CEO of AEW, on Tuesday to discuss his future with the company. Furthermore, sources have shared that Punk and Ace Steel will either get suspended or let go from the company. It’s safe to assume that a decision will be made by tonight.
