Thomas Fidone II 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Care to hear more about Nebraska tight end, Thomas Fidone II? If the answer is no, I really don’t blame you, but we’ll get to why here in a hot minute. I got so many of these to type and intro paragraphs are a waste of time so let’s get this 2025 NFL Draft profile published and in the books!

NFL Draft Stock Report: Senior Bowl (1), Game

Fidone, 6-foot-5, 243, was a four star tight end and the number one overall prospect at his position during the 2021 cycle. Hails from the state of Iowa too, so it’s kinda surprising he didn’t end up at Iowa based on how they’ve developed so many guys in the past. You know me, I genuinely respect the people who cover recruiting. Frankly, I think they’re better than 90% of NFL GMs. I just think they totally missed here. I don’t see talent.

I just wasn’t impressed at all during any of these pre-draft events. Bad at the Senior Bowl. Bad at the Combine. Dirt slow and doesn’t resemble anything that a receiving tight end game changer looks like. Has height on his side but that’s about it. I don’t really know what he brings to the table beyond being tall. Did basically everything at the Combine minus bench and the lack of strength looks kinda obvious.

We really only have two years of production to work with here. I have no idea why a player like this would declare early but that’s a story for another day. In 2023 he notched 25 receptions for 260 yards and four scores. Then topped this off in 2024 with 36 receptions for 373 yards and zero touchdowns. Don’t ask me why he didn’t go back to school, especially in the NIL era but whatever. By the way, missed all of 2022 with a knee injury.

I’ll give Fidone this, he tries. You can see the guy has a motor. No non-chalant cheese in his effort. Can kinda jump and is at least a passable blocker. Pad level stinks and is often way too high in reps but at least has the frame to hang in there. Lacks agile feel running routes though. Far from polished in that area. I can’t stress enough how big of a mistake it was declaring early. I may feel differently if he goes back to school this year and really takes a leap forward.

I have an undrafted grade on Thomas Fidone II. He definitely won’t be on my tight end list and honestly, I’m surprised anybody is in on this.
