According to an official announcement by Telltale Games The Wolf Among Us 2 has been officially delayed until 2024. Despite the fact that 2023 is just three whole months old, the studio has decided that delaying it is for the best for now.
In an interview with IGN, Telltale CEO Jamie Ottilie said that he and the team wanted to avoid a time crunch, putting out an unfinished product, and making sure the health of the team was being addressed, something that Telltale was heavily criticized about during its initial fall in 2018.
It’s this last point Telltale wants to move past the most. The gaming community’s trust in the studio is pretty low. So, if Telltale wants to win that trust back, treating devs right and putting out a masterpiece are top priority.
“If we put this game out and it’s not ready, we’re going to get torn to shreds,” Ottilie said.
The Wolf Among Us 2 is Telltale’s most anticipated game they are working on right now. Its previous title acquired a large fanbase and great sales. If there was ever to be a game that could even try to bring Telltale back, it would be this one. But with this delay, uncertainty will no doubt creep in. Regardless, we will just have to see what this delay really entails and if the finished product will be worth it in the end.
