The Undertaker hasn’t been seen in WWE since January, but if reports are to be believed, he might make a return soon.
The Deadman’s iconic career spanned 38 years, the majority of it taking place in the WWE. From his WrestleMania Undefeated Streak to his numerous championship runs, he truly earned his place in WWE’s Hall of Fame. However, with the wrestling world undergoing numerous changes, The Undertaker might show face in character next week.
WWE NXT and AEW Dynamite will go head-to-head next Tuesday, and the Stamford-based promotion isn’t letting the competition go lightly. They’ve already announced the appearances of both The Rock and John Cena, and might just bring The Undertaker in for good measure. According to PWInsider, the Deadman will be in Orlando, Fla., where NXT will take place.
“While there is no word yet as to whether he will appear on camera,” Max Johnson of PWInsider said. “The word around the WWE Performance Center yesterday and today has been that The Undertaker will be in Orlando, Florida next week, including Tuesday when WWE NXT has loaded up a big episode to go against the Tuesday Night AEW Dynamite broadcast on TBS.”
However, this doesn’t confirm that The Undertaker will make an appearance, let alone wrestle in any capacity. However, after acquiring Jade Cargill–an AEW original–it seems like WWE isn’t pulling any punches in this chapter of their war with the promotion.
Bray Wyatt’s return to WWE was met with a ton of positivity and he finally seemed to have the creative freedom he always needed. Tragically, Wyatt shockingly passed away on Aug. 25th, 2023. While fans will never know what the star could have done, before his death, The Undertaker passed his legendary “torch” on to him.
The Undertaker notably spoke to Metro only a few months before Bray Wyatt’s death, and fantasy booked the return of his Swampfather persona. Sadly, The Deadman might just have to pass the torch on to another star, and perhaps next week’s WWE NXT might be the best place to do so.
