WWE have added a huge name to their roster in the form of former AEW TBS Champion Jade Cargill, who has officially signed a multi-year deal with World Wrestling Entertainment, the company announced Tuesday.
Cargill was a member of the All Elite Wrestling roster since her debut in the business in late 2020, carving out her own unique legacy in AEW as an unstoppable rookie who no one could get the better of. This led to her becoming the inaugural TBS Champion in January 2022, a title she would hold for 508 days which included a staggering 25 title defenses.
She made her final appearance for AEW on the Sept. 15 edition of Rampage, where she was defeated by the current TBS Champion, Kris Statlander, who ended Cargill’s 508-day reign at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view in May of 2023.
Following the match, rumors began surfacing online that Jade was leaving All Elite Wrestling and jumping ship to WWE, and that’s exactly what happened when ESPN broke the news.
Cargill’s arrival in WWE comes just a few days after the company released a whole host of talent, including the likes of Dolph Ziggler, Matt Riddle and Shelton Benjamin, as well as staff members on the corporate side of the company. However, these cuts had nothing to do with Jade’s arrival and were simply a result of the company’s merger with the UFC to form TKO under their parent company Endeavor.
There is no word at the time of writing how long Jade Cargill’s multi-year deal will last, but one thing is for certain: She will be entertaining the WWE Universe for many years to come!
