The Rise Of Joe Burrow

Joe Burrow
(Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports)

If you don’t already know who Joe Burrow is, it’s time you do. Joe Burrow is a redshirt senior quarterback for LSU who has risen to college football prominence while facing much adversity. When Joe Burrow was younger, he had one dream…To bring a National Title back to Nebraska football. In high school, Burrow became a star quarterback leading his team to a state championship. Although Burrow would shine in high school, his dream of becoming the Cornhuskers quarterback would not happen. Burrow would go to Ohio State where he would back up the likes of JT Barrett, and Cardale Jones for three seasons. From there, Burrow transferred to LSU where he would start at QB and ultimately reshape the college football world.

In his junior season for LSU, Burrow still had some problems to fix with accuracy and field vision. He was very mobile and relied much on his legs to get plays done. He brought LSU to a record of 10-3 and a Fiesta Bowl win over UCF. He finished that year with 2,894 yards, 16 touchdown passes, and 5 interceptions with a 57 percent completion percentage. Although these stats aren’t well, it would set him up to have one of the best senior years that college football has ever seen from a Quarterback.

For Burrow’s Senior year, you might say it was mind blowing. He has brought LSU to an undefeated record and to the college football playoff where he single handedly dismantled Jalen Hurts and the Oklahoma Sooners tallying 493 yards and 7 touchdowns. LSU went on to win the game 63-28 bringing them to their first title appearance in 10 years. With one game left to go, Burrow has tallied an amazing 5,208 yards, 55 touchdown passes, and 6 interceptions. He has taken this whole country by storm and is now ready to do what he always dreamed of with a different team as he faces off with Trevor Lawerence and the Clemson Tigers on Monday.

As for draft stock, this is no surprise. Joe Burrow has pretty much locked in as the first overall pick for the Cincinnati Bengals who have shown complete love in Burrow. So after Monday, everyone who doubted Burrow may regret overlooking him. When this chapter is over, the next one starts for Burrow.
