Soooooo I really want to see the movie Dune. Timothée Chalamet is the main actor in Dune and I realized while scrolling on Netflix he had a historical movie already on there about King Henry. Old history movies are my jam so we had to give The King a fair shake. How does it stake up?
I have to say, I really enjoyed this one. I don’t know how to feel about Robert Pattinson but he’s much better than a weird vampire in this one. Pattinson plays a French prince and watching him talk in an accent is worth the watch by itself.
Chalamet plays King Henry who originally is never in line for the thrown because he’s a drunk fool. They’re ready to hand the keys to his younger brother but he goes and foolishly gets himself killed. Chalamet is a really good actor and has some moments in there where you become convinced he’s a real leader.
Overall it’s a solid film. It has some history, war, and even a little betrayal sprinkled in there. I absolutely recommend this one. Even Joel Edgerton’s character is really likable. Even a King needs friends, man.
The only thing I wish that happened is that they had some sort of text at the end of the movie to see how this King actually progressed. It doesn’t feel like we get any information about what comes next. Minor complaint, however.
This movie made me want to go watch Dune even more. That’s all I’ll say.
