The Markelle Fultz era in Philadelphia is over. The Philadelphia 76ers have had enough of Fultz. A guy that has the
Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report the news:
The pick protections have been revealed. The 76ers will receive a 2020 Thunder pick that has made the rounds around the league. It was part of the Jerami Grant trade that actually used to be Philly property. If we’re being honest, this is a pretty good haul for Fultz. We’re talking about a guy who is broken. Who can’t contribute. Getting two picks seems like a win.
Fultz will always be remembered for the guy that could have been Fultz was traded on draft day for what turned into Jayson Tatum and the 2019 Kings first round pick. It would have been bad enough if it were Fultz and a first round pick for Tatum but the 76ers gave up a first rounder and picked the wrong guy. It’s a mistake that could cost the 76ers a title.
For Orlando, I guess this is a good buy low candidate? The Magic haven’t had a reliable point guard in what seems like 20 years. Maybe Fultz just needed a change of scenery. In 19 games for the 76ers this year, Fultz has averaged 8.2 points and 3.1 assists per game. Fultz has played just 19 games on the season averaging a tad over 22 minutes per contest. Can Fultz turn into a franchise caliber point guard for the Magic? They better hope. This could easily become an Anthony Bennett situation in a hurry.
