2019 NFL Draft
The Tennessee Titans reached for Corey Davis and remain totally irrelevant until they move off Marcus Mariota. Well, let’s head inside the 2019 NFL Draft War Room (Derik Hamilton/UPI)

We’re getting to the middle of the pack in the war room series. The Tennessee Titans have enough defensive talent to keep them in games but the lack of a real quarterback limits their ceiling. Now the Titans will go into 2019 with Ryan Tannehill and Marcus Mariota… good luck. Let’s head inside the war room to see where the Titans can improve. What will Jon Robinson and company do during the 2019 NFL Draft?

First Round (Pick 19) – I would guess that the Titans may go tight end here. Delanie Walker can’t be counted on much longer and missed basically the entire season in 2018. If one of those big boy tight ends are on the board, I could see Robinson pulling the trigger. Irv Smith, TJ Hockenson, and Noah Fant are the three in the first round mix. I personally like Smith the most but the Iowa guys seem to be rated higher according to most.

Second Round (Pick 51) – This is such a great defensive line draft that Mike Vrabel will be pushing to get one in the first two rounds. Khalen Saunders may be that guy and can get plugged into that 3-4 defense at the 3 technique. Saunders comes in at 324 pounds and can really get after the quarterback. He had a monster Senior Bowl and proved he can really play. Jurrell Casey needs a Robin on the defensive line and Saunders could be that guy. There are so many defensive linemen to pick from.

Third Round (Pick 83) – Malcolm Butler sucks. That signing was a disaster from the start. Robinson should probably be fired for that acquisition because only an idiot thought that was a good idea, but I digress. Cornerback has to be addressed. In the third round, there are some good players to choose from. Lonnie Johnson, Isaiah Johnson, David Long, JoeJuan Williams, Trayvon Mullen, and Kendall Sheffield could possibly be on the board at that time. Get yourself another corner to go with Logan Ryan and Adoree Jackson. If that happens, this defense goes to another level.

This franchise is kind of a joke in the fact that they just copy whatever New England does. Dion Lewis was a bust. They only picked Rashaan Evans because they thought New England was going to. Malcolm Butler was a disaster. They signed Adam Humphries because Belichick wanted his white wide receiver. The only problem is Vrabel isn’t Belichick and Mariota can’t even sniff Tom Brady’s jock. The Titans really can’t be taken seriously until they move off Mariota.
