In a sudden turn of events, Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins will most likely miss Week 10 against the Houston Texans with a hamstring injury.
Higgins is coming off his best game of the season, hauling in eight catches for 110 yards in the Bengals’ 24-18 win over the Bills Sunday night. It was the team’s 4th consecutive victory.
“I told Tee coming into the game — he was feeling good — so I was going to feed him the ball today, and he stepped up big time,” Joe Burrow said postgame. “He’s going to continue to do that. He always does. I have a lot of faith in that guy.”
The Clemson product started off the season slow, coming in with just 19 catches for 218 yards. He desperately needed a big game, and he delivered. Bengals fans could sense it coming from the start, when Burrow hit him on a scramble drill that went for 18 yards.
“I got started off the scrambles,” Higgins said in the locker room, via Cincinnati Bengals Talk. “Joe likes to make plays with his feet, so I seen him comin’ out the box, and it was my job to get open. He put the ball perfect, and I was able to make the play.”
“I was due for one,” Higgins added. “I’m glad it came at the right time. I couldn’t have asked for a better moment to show up.”
Unfortunately for Cincinnati, Higgins aggravated his hamstring Wednesday, and didn’t participate in practice Thursday. Initially, there was a belief that Ja’Marr Chase would miss Sunday’s game due to a back issue, while Higgins would be in the lineup. Higgins was a limited participant on Wednesday, however, that script has flipped.
NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday that Higgins did not practice Thursday and “expected” to miss Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.

Chase was a limited participant on Thursday, going through individual drills and stretching. I said before that Chase’s injury was worse than it seems, but that’s most likely not the case. He’s probably just really sore.
Higgins and Chase showed up to practice later than usual. Chase was in a practice jersey and Higgins was in street clothes, and they were both seen joking around and laughing with teammates in good spirits.
Now, the Bengals will most likely have Chase for Sunday, and sideline Higgins.
