There’s been a lot of buzz about Tasty Dumpling, located in NYC’s Chinatown on Mulberry Street. With its extremely cheap price, it has gained a lot of attention from New Yorkers who don’t want to break the bank to get a quick snack!

Right by Canal Street, it’s easily accessible for anyone craving a juicy steamy dumpling. Right after you can head to Eggloo or Alimama Tea for either waffles or cream puffs! The joint is conveniently located in front of Chinatown’s charming park. It makes the perfect day for dumplings and dessert. 

The Food

Heading into Tasty Dumpling you’re greeted by many tourists trying out the place. Everyone has tons of dumplings on the table, and everyone is ready to dig into each one. The flavors range from pork and chive to pork and cabbage, my personal favorites. They sell four dumplings for $2 — a great steal! Each dumpling comes out hot and juicy, packed with tons of flavor from the pork and veggie. With it being so cheap, it makes each bite better. 

The dumpling dough is perfectly cooked and holds the juice of the pork well. The inside of the dumpling is moist and tender, with a freshness and crunchy bite of the cabbage/chive. What makes this dumpling great is that if you want more, you can get more! I had three orders of the 4-pack of dumplings and was left completely full from just $6 of food. This leaves room for the other menu options such as the scallion pancake, wonton soup and other hot and savory dishes!

And just as a warning: Tasty Dumpling is cash only. Don’t make the same mistake I did and only bring your card! Luckily, there are lots of ATMs nearby to catch any common blunder.
