Tampa Bay Florida might be changing their name after Super Bowl Sunday. The mayor of Tampa Bay Jane Castor told ESPN that the city would consider re-naming itself if Tom Brady and the Buccaneer’s brought home the Lombardi Trophy.
“I told him, we are not discussing changing our city’s name until he brings home that Lombardi trophy. So Tom and I will have that discussion in due time,”
“Yes, we will talk about that, changing ‘Tampa,’ since we are becoming a title town, to ‘Tompa Bay.’ We’ll have those discussions.”

This is insane, if any city should change their name to honor Brady it should be Foxborough. That was the city that he brought 6 championships to, he went to 9 Super Bowl’s with the Patriots and this is only his first with the Bucs.
It is a cool gesture from the mayor I guess, just another incentive for Brady and the Bucs to win in their home stadium. I don’t think Brady needs to have another reason to win this game. He wants to show the world he doesn’t need Bill Belichick to win.
This isn’t even the best way to re-name the city, Tampa Brady sounds way better than Tompa Bay. Florida is weird as shit though, so I wouldn’t put anyone past the state as there are basically no COVID regulations while the rest of the country is still pretty much locked up.
Raymond James Stadium will have about 25,000 fans this year, most of the Tampa Bay fans rooting for the Bucs in their home stadium. This is the first time a team will play the Super Bowl in its home stadium.
TL//DR: Tampa Bay might be changing their name after Super Bowl Sunday 2021
