The Suns Should Trade For Myles Turner
What if the missing piece to a title in Phoenix is Myles Turner? The 2023-24 NBA Season continues to inch closer and closer but the Deandre Ayton issue still hasn’t been solved. Are the Suns a real contender with the pouting Ayton still on the roster? If not, is there a way to cash the Ayton piece in for a real asset to get the Suns over the top? The more I think about it, the more it’s hard to ignore Turner as the missing piece in Phoenix.
Does anybody know what direction the Pacers are taking? Obviously, it takes two teams to tango in order to get a trade worked out. With that said, Turner feels like the Matt Dumba of the NBA. The guy is always on the trade block and for whatever reason hasn’t been traded.

Turner signed an extension in Indiana, but it wasn’t long ago that he was begging for the Lakers to trade for him. It feels like Turner has been in Indiana forever and they haven’t really won anything since.
Are the Pacers trying to win? Are the Pacers trying to rebuild? If you ask ten different people on what the Pacers are trying to accomplish, you will probably get ten different answers.
Don’t forget, the Pacers were the team to send the offer sheet on Ayton too. If the Pacers signed Ayton to the contract he’s currently playing on, odds are they still might be interested in acquiring him. Ayton is also two years younger than Turner and might fit the timeline better as they try to build around Tyrese Haliburton.
The Suns are all in and they also have literally zero draft picks to deal. However, the fake trade cheese I posted at the top is something the Suns should be trying to get done every day. Turner is a more reliable player than Ayton. He also spaces the floor better and is actually committed to rim protection. TJ McConnell would also be a low-key great backup point guard option too.
If the Suns were to find a way to pull off a trade for Myles Turner, it very well could be the missing piece to a title winner.
