Find you someone that loves you the way the Steelers love Mitch Trubisky. Better yet, find you a PR team like the one that Trubisky has! I physically can’t think of a quarterback in NFL history who has sucked this bad yet been given opportunity after opportunity.
On the Pat McAfee Show, Steelers general manager Omar Khan announced that they were extending Trubisky. The contract will lower Trubisky’s 2023 number but will also extend him into the future.
Ian Rapoport added the contract details later:
It’s hard to fathom why the Steelers would do this. I understand that the Steelers have Kenny Pickett under a rookie quarterback contract so they can afford to do this. However, I’d argue that it’s probably a bad idea to give money to bad football players. Adapt or die. The Steelers are apparently willing to die.
Last year Trubisky sported a 4-5 TD to INT ratio in seven games played. Somehow that gets you a contract extension. Nothing makes sense in this world we live in.
The OG readers of this site will always know the truth. Mitch Trubisky sucks and I never respected your opinion if you say otherwise.
I guess Omar Khan wasn’t lying. He said he wanted to keep Trubisky and now has made that come true. It still doesn’t make sense but at least Khan did really good things during the 2023 NFL Draft.
It will be a really successful season for the Steelers if Trubisky never takes the field again. The fate of the 2023 Steelers rest in the hands of second year quarterback, Kenny Pickett. Time will tell if he becomes a legitimate franchise quarterback in Pittsburgh. The only thing clear about today’s transgression is the fact that Pittsburgh threw money in the toilet.
