A new face has emerged in the Ottawa Senators’ ownership race. Rapper and hockey fanatic Snoop Dogg has become part of a group interested in buying the Ottawa Senators.
The world-renounced hip-hop icon has become part of a bid headlined by Neko Sparks that’s interested in buying the franchise.
“He’s passionately involved. He’s coming up with ideas. And he’s legitimately excited,” a source told The Athletic’s Ian Mendes. “He wants this team.”
Snoop has been open about his love for the game of hockey. He has had multiple appearances at Los Angeles Kings games as well as NHL All-Star games. Snoop has that dog inside of him for hockey. Not to mention, Snoop also had an appearance on NHL 20 where he became an in-game commentator and playable character.
“He’s passionate about trying to make this game affordable for visible minorities and kids in low-income areas who haven’t been able to play hockey in the past,” a source told Mendes. “He wants to be community-oriented.”

Snoop Dogg is not the only celebrity who has become interested in the ownership of the Senators. World famous actor Ryan Reynolds, most notable for his role as Deadpool in the hit film franchise, has previously shown interested in owning a piece of the club.
Reynolds is linked to the Remington Group, which is reportedly prepping a $1 billion offer sheet to buy the Senators.
The deadline to buy the Ottawa Senators is on May 15, so offers could be flowing in faster than Snoop Dogg’s rap flow.
