2020 Record: 2-8 (2-8 SEC)
2021 Projected Win Total (via MGM): O/U 3.5 Wins
On The Field
When the SEC played an all-conference schedule in 2020, the South Carolina Gamecocks got abused. They lost a tough game at home to Tennessee and then lost by only two touchdowns to the Florida Gators. The Gamecocks beat Vanderbilt and then upset Auburn and seemingly had some momentum heading into the second half of the season. They lost their final six games of the season to finish a disappointing 2-8.
In 2021 they got a chance to play teams outside the SEC for the first time in two years. They beat up on two inferior teams to start 2-0 before having to travel to Athens to play the Georgia Bulldogs. That loss was expected, but they had a chance to get back on the right track against Kentucky at home but they lost 16-10.
In The Market
The SimSouth Carolina Gamecocks are the 10th cheapest share in the SimBull CFB market and the second-lowest share price in SEC. They are one of 13 CFB teams with a share price under thirty dollars. For context, their current share price of $27.08 is essentially the same as the SimCubs who traded away all their best players earlier in the season.
Considering the share price of Kentucky is almost $15 dollars higher than South Carolina’s, only losing by 6 points should be a good sign for Gamecock investors. They are already halfway over their projected win total of the season with their two wins already giving investors a 3.6% return on investment.
