SimBull CFB 2021 Full Team Breakdown: Texas Tech University

Welcome to Vendetta’s SimBull CFB full team breakdowns, where the writers from Vendetta Sports Media will be analyzing all the Power 5 college football programs for their share value on SimBull, and next up is the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

2020 Win Total: 4-6

2021 Projected Win Total: 5

On The Field:

We all know that the Big-12 is known for what? No defense and high-flying offenses. Texas Tech last year fit that mold, but just barely. This offense averaged 429 yards per game, and with new Offensive Coordinator, and former Red Raiders QB Sonny Cumbie, that will look to get boosted even higher. Who is the man to lead this high-powered offense? Oregon transfer Tyler Slough. Slough led the Ducks to a Pac-12 Championship in 2020 before departing for Lubbock. He will be protected by an offensive line that was the real bright spot last season, and they return 4 starters which should help tremendously. The defense should be…fine. The linebacking corp for Texas Tech is where the talent is at, this pass rush got better as the season progressed as well. What this defense needs to do to take that next step is find ways to make big plays, get takeaways, and crucial stops.

In The Market:

On SimBull CFB, the current price per share for Texas Tech is $39.26. Texas Tech is 3-1 on the season, but their wins have come against scrubs and they just got throttled by 35 against Texas. Their schedule isn’t the hardest, but games against Oklahoma, TCU, and Iowa State won’t help the win shares. Texas Tech is not a team you want to invest in during this season. They have a nice start to the year, but the Texas game showed holes in this defense and that could create panic for investors, especially in the Big-12.
