Welcome to Vendetta’s SimBull CFB full team breakdowns, where the writers from Vendetta Sports Media will be analyzing all the Power 5 college football programs for their share value on SimBull, and next up are the Iowa State Cyclones.
My god, it feels like Brock Purdy has been the QB for Iowa State for about a decade now. Purdy brings an offense into this season that a season ago wasn’t always perfect but my goodness was it effective. Last season, the Cyclones averaged almost 450 yards a game and 33 points per game while also leading the Big-12 in third-down conversions percentage. The offense returns 10 starters which should help matters even more. The offensive line for Iowa State is among the best not only in the Big-12 but perhaps in the country. Turning to the defensive side of the ball, they are returning a slew of starters and key contributors from a year ago that only allowed 21 points per game. The secondary might be a concern this year like it was a year prior, but the defensive unit as a whole has more than enough talent to make up for one part of the team lacking behind a little.
On SimBull CFB, the current price per share for Iowa State sits at $58.77, the 5th highest on the site. Looking at how their season has played out so far: 2-2 with wins over scrub teams in UNLV and barely beating Northern Iowa and dropping games to Iowa by 10 and Baylor by 2, it’s hard to suggest investors chose to invest in this Iowa State team. Matt Campbell is proving he can coach, but this team doesn’t deserve the 5th spot on the market. Surely this team will drop, and when that time comes maybe consider investing. But for right now, there are much better value teams to be investing in.
