Welcome to the next SimBull CFB full team breakdown, the writers from Vendetta Sports Media will be breaking down and analyzing all the Power 5 college football programs, and next up is Baylor. Check out the last breakdown here.
2020 Record: 2-7 (2-7)
2021 Projected Win Total (via Wynn): 5.5
On The Field
In 2020, almost every team’s schedule was strictly conference games, and the weaker teams became the punching bag. Baylor’s season was no different beating only Kansas and Kansas State. 2021 will be Dave Aranda’s second season in Waco after four years in LSU as the defensive coordinator.
If Aranda can take his SEC defense and apply that to the Big 12, that can be an issue for the conference opponents who are used to playing in high-scoring games. They started the 2021 season the right way going 2-0, but their schedule gets tougher in October once they face other conference teams.
In The Market
The SimBaylor Bears are currently the 12th cheapest team in the entire SimBull CFB market at $29.95. There is only one Big 12 team below them in the market. If Aranda can replicate any level of success he saw at LSU in Baylor the shares will for sure increase in value.
Nobody really knows what the future looks like for the Big 12, but if they lose their elite programs, naturally the conference schedule will be easier for the middle-of-the-road teams. With such a cheap share price and their early-season performance, this could be a share you buy and see how everything plays out.
