SimBull 2021 CFB Full Team Breakdown: Arizona State Sun Devils

Welcome to the next SimBull CFB full team breakdown, the writers from Vendetta Sports Media will be breaking down and analyzing all the Power 5 college football programs, and next up are the Arizona State Sun Devils. Check out the first one here.

2020 Record: 2-2 (2-2)

2021 Projected Win Total (via William Hill): O/U 9

On The Field

Arizona State, along with its entire conference, was probably most affected by the pandemic. The Pac-12 decided to the only plan within its borders, and with the late start canceled games were never made up. Herm Edwards took over in Tempe for the 2018 season, and he has led them to a winning record in all four of his seasons. (minus 2020).

The Sun Devils have started the 2021 season with two non-conference outscoring opponents 78-24 in their two wins. They are ranked 19th in the country headed into their Pac-12 schedule and they have some very winnable games left on their schedule.

In The Market

The SimArizona State Sun Devils are currently the 15th most expensive team in the SimBull CFB market and the third most expensive Pac-12 team at $48.71 a share. I think they are priced fairly reasonably in the overall market, but I don’t see how they are cheaper than a USC team that just fired their coach.

The future of this price isn’t only dependent on the Sun Devils, if their conference can become relevant again, it raises the value of all the teams. If they get beat up by their Pac-12 foes their price will plummet and they will not come close to their projected win total.
