Sam Hartman 2024 NFL Draft Profile
Sam Hartman felt like he was in college forever. Does the 24-year-old quarterback prospect have a real NFL future? Hartman was once viewed as a Heisman contender. Can he take his talents and become a franchise quarterback? Let’s have a much-needed chat in this edition of the 2024 NFL Draft Profile series.
I’m not even going to bury the lede here. I think Sam Hartman sucks. I’m not sure how in-depth you really want me to go here. I can only find so many creative ways to say a guy sucks. I think it was the worst quarterback performance I’ve ever seen during the Senior Bowl game. He literally made me want to vomit. It was THAT bad. He looked like total trash at the Combine too. It really doesn’t do it justice without clicking those links.
The guy can’t play. I’m not sure what you want me to say. It’s disappointing because he looked like he could become a Derek Carr type of guy during his Wake Forest days. He clearly regressed for whatever reason. Maybe it’s the rib surgery. I don’t know what happened. He was pretty bad all year minus the pillow fight against a Service Academy team early in the year. Six year college player that only threw for 2,689 yards in 2023. Posted a 24-8 TD to INT ratio in his only season with Notre Dame.
I really don’t want to beat a dead horse here. There is just no way anyone can watch him at the Senior Bowl and or Combine and think anything is here. Totally undraftable and probably should just retire now. Any team that drafts him is flushing a pick down the toilet. Will provide zero value and should start pursuing paths outside of playing football.
