Sam Darnold Out Multiple Weeks With Mono

The Jets season was off to such a nice start. They led the Bills 16-0 in Week 1. That’s when everything went to hell. The Jets blew the lead and now are in danger of blowing the rest of the season. Young hot shot quarterback quarterback Sam Darnold just got hit with the sickness. Darnold has mono. Darnold has already been ruled out for Week 2 could miss multiple weeks.

NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport had the following:

That Week 4 bye now feels like a blessing. Given the fact that they have a Bye in Week 4, that likely means Darnold is out the next two weeks. The Jets can kiss their season goodbye. Week 2 is a must win. They get Cleveland on Monday Night Football. Week 3 is against New England. New York also gets Philadelphia and Dallas after the bye. They will have to find a way to win with Trevor Siemian. Luke Falk is now the backup.

What can go wrong, will go wrong. Does anyone have it worse than the Jets, Mets, Knicks fan? Those fan bases are just cursed. It’s truly unbelievable. I had the Jets making the playoffs this year as a wildcard. If Siemian doesn’t find a way to beat the Browns on Monday Night, the season is over.

It looks like another lost season for the Jets again. The good news is he’s just sick. It’s not season ending or shouldn’t be at least. Darnold set the league on fire over the final few weeks of the 2018. I was so excited to see him get going in year 2. We will now have to wait for that to come to fruition. Get well soon, slinging Sammy!
