The Chicago Bears are going through the Hard Knocks process right now but offseason series the Giants went through is a different beast. Different from most of the Hard Knocks as it gives fans an inside look at how the free agency window and draft shook out. The Giants made fools of themselves and there really isn’t any other way to interpret it. Ryan Poles gave his thoughts on the series and his answer is the least surprising answer ever.
“Yeah, that’s a tough one for me,” Poles said during an appearance on the Hoge and Jahns podcast on Monday. “I think that moving forward they are going to have a hard time finding a team. There is no show unless there’s access. And you gotta go through all the different scenarios.
“That’s a lot of internal conversations. And I struggle sometimes with conversations about players. There’s a business side of things. We try to be as transparent as possible. But I don’t know if it needs to get out to everyone.”
Can I just do a mini GM translator here because this one is pretty easy to understand? Poles doesn’t want to look like a punching bag that Joe Schoen looks like. Poles is totally clueless. He doesn’t want people to see that. Especially some of his draft takes that would further come to light. Like the one that was hidden that they had Rome Odunze as better than Marvin Harrison Jr. Stuff like that would be under a huge microscope if the Bears were the offseason team and obviously Poles wants to avoid looking stupid. It’s as simple as that.
