Ronnie Bell 2023 NFL Draft Profile

Michigan has another wide receiver entering the NFL and this time it’s Ronnie Bell. It feels like Bell was at Michigan forever, however, how should we feel about his NFL prospects? Let’s dive right into the Ronnie Bell 2023 NFL Draft profile.

Without burying the lead, I’m just not into Bell. Too many red flags and not enough things to get excited about. Bell checks in at 6-foot, 191. The 40 time of 4.54 is fine but it tells a lot of the story. Just not really that explosive. Not slow but no twitch.

We also have some injury red flags to go over. There was an ACL tear in 2021. He also only played six games the year before. Was also hurt as a freshman too. He’s not talented enough to also be an injury risk.

During the 2022 redshirt senior season, Bell notched 62 receptions for 889 yards and four scores. Even in a really good Michigan offense, he was just kinda there. Bell was also mentioned for being JAG in the stock report notes. The Maryland corners (who we have learned are both pretty good) beat the piss out of him during the year.

Wasn’t a fan at the combine either. Just has no twitch. I’m not sure what there is to be excited about.

At the end of the day, I view Ronnie Bell as the poor man’s Donovan Peoples-Jones. They look kinda similar but one guy is way more talented and had a much more extensive recruiting profile. Peoples-Jones has since flourished with the Browns. I’m not sure Bell is anything more than a WR4-5 during his career.
