Rhea Ripley Injured, New Women’s Title Challenger Determined On Raw

On the June 20th episode of Monday Night Raw, Bianca Belair, the Raw Women’s Champion, opened up the show with news about competitor Rhea Ripley. She cut a promo stating that Ripley will not be medically cleared to compete at the Money in the Bank premium live event.

Two weeks ago, Rhea Ripley earned a shot at the Raw Women’s Championship when she defeated Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, and Doudrop in a fatal four-way match on Raw two weeks ago. She has been getting a nice push since she ended her tag-team with Liv Morgan. Since then, she joined The Judgement Day. Rhea, one of the best in the business, will likely get her title shot when she comes back from the injury. It is unclear at this time what the injury is and how long she will be out for.

Bianca Belair had also announced that there was to be a fatal five-way match to determine who her opponent would be at Money in the Bank, due to Ripley’s inability to partake. The match featured Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Becky Lynch, Asuka, and Carmella 00 the top woman on Raw. Any one of them could have made for a great challenger against Bianca. This is the first time we’ve seen Carmella since she went on her honeymoon in April. Since then, she has been chasing the 24/7 championship and the women’s tag-team championship.

Carmella won the fatal five-way and became the new number one contender for the Raw Women’s Championship. She is going to face Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Championship at the Money in the Bank premium live event, which takes place July 2nd at 8pm EST.
