Raiders Sign Marcus Peters
Don’t tell the Raiders that they’re tanking! Las Vegas is making a significant add prior to the start of the 2023-24 NFL Season. Veteran cornerback Marcus Peters is signing a one-year contract with the Raiders. Peters has spent the last 3.5 years in Baltimore but will now bolt for Vegas.

Peters, 30, is best known for his ball-hawking ability. The Oakland California native has 32 career interceptions since entering the league in 2015. The Chiefs selected Peters during the 2015 NFL Draft out of the University of Washington. Peters now makes his return to the AFC West after spending time with the Ravens and Rams after Kansas City.
Pro Football Focus gave Peters a 67.7 grade. We also know PFF is trash so take that with a grain of salt. Peters is a bit of a riverboat gambler in the secondary. Sometimes he gets burned going for the pick but you have to admire his ball skills. The Raiders also need serious help at corner. Las Vegas was preparing to start Duke Shelley and David Long while Nate Hobbs controlled the slot. Peters certainly helps add talent to that secondary.
It’s a bit surprising that Baltimore wasn’t interested in keeping Peters. Rock Ya-Sin and Jalyn Armour-Davis will be tasked with replacing him.
Marcus Peters has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and has been named an All-Pro player twice. Peters has 346 tackles, 32 interceptions, 92 pass breakups, 11 forced fumbles, and 10 fumble recoveries during his career thus far. Hopefully, he can add to those totals in Vegas.
