The Raiders’ Lack Of Interest In Justin Fields Speaks Volumes

What are the Bears going to do with Justin Fields? Better yet, is there an NFL team out there willing to give up an enticing package for the former Ohio State product? On the surface, the Raiders make some sense. Well… except for the part where they’re not interested.

The Athletic’s Vic Tafur (Don’t click the link it’s from the trash bag site that is The Athletic. Vic is a good reporter. The company he works for is just the scum of the earth) has reported that the Raiders are “very unlikely” to pursue Fields.

It should be noted that we are very much in lying szn. The NFL politics are here to try to spread misinformation. I just don’t think this report is wrong.

Mostly due to the fact that Luke Getsy is the new offensive coordinator in Vegas. He spent the last two years as Fields’ OC in Chicago. It wasn’t exactly a pleasant experience. If you connect the dots, a reasonable person would acknowledge that Getsy likely doesn’t want to coach Fields again.

Keep in mind that Getsy went out of his way to give Aidan O’Connell insane praise. Getsy isn’t going to bash Fields publically but Vic’s reporter would be entirely different if Getsy had positive intel.

For Chicago, I’m not sure there is even a debate here. The Bears need to move on from Justin Fields for obvious reasons. I’m just not sure they will have much of a market and may be forced to move on for a fraction of the original draft cost.

For Vegas, I’d anticipate that Aidan O’Connell will be one of their quarterbacks. They will likely add another at some point during the 2024 NFL Draft.
