Rafael Devers Is A Hero For Bashing The Red Sox
There are always exceptions in life. Normally, you don’t want the superstar player bashing the franchise. In the instance of Rafael Devers, they should probably build this man a statue outside of Fenway Park for the words he used at Spring Training. Devers is the highest-paid player on the team and is using his voice for good reason.
The Sox third baseman was not shy to share his opinion on what Boston did this offseason. Which was next to nothing outside of signing Lucas Giolito.
“Everybody knows what we need. You know what we need. They know what we need,” Devers said through an interpreter at the team’s spring training complex.
“There is some things I can’t say out loud, but everybody in this organization knows what we need.”
Translation… we need pitching!
The rotation in Boston looks like a trainwreck again. Especially if the Giolito experiment goes south. Brayan Bello is locked in at the top. Everything else is a rolling question mark. Is Boston going to do anything about it with the number of names still sitting there in free agency?
I simply can’t believe the Red Sox are going to trot out that roster while knowing they’re about to be on Netflix. Devers continued to just speak the truth.
“Nobody wants to be on Netflix as a losing team,” he said. “That’s a bad look. Everybody in this organization wants to win, but they [the Red Sox front office] need to make an adjustment to help us players be in a better position to win.”
What more can you say? Hero. That’s all there is to say.
