PSG Keen on Adding Paul Pogba
PSG is hoping to continue their run of success in the 2021 summer transfer window by adding star midfielder Paul Pogba. The French international is entering the final year of his contract, and while it appears that Manchester United wants to keep him in England, Pogba wants “new scenery” according to his agent. The 28-year-old has had an up-and-down run with the Red Devils since his arrival in 2016, and a return to his home country could see Pogba join an absurdly talented Paris Saint-Germain squad.
Although no contract details or personal terms have been agreed upon, Pogba is interested in a potential move to the Parisian giants, according to ESPN. He was one of the few bright spots in France’s short run at the 2020 Euros and, despite several defensive lapses, dazzled for the reigning world champions, illustrating that an exit from Manchester could positively affect his play.
PSG lost out on the French Ligue 1 trophy on the final matchday earlier this year. Following the loss, the club has shown a willingness to improve in all areas as they seek to regain the league title and make a run at their first-ever Champions League trophy.
And they will certainly have the squad to do it. With Neymar signing an extension, plus the additions of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma as well as wing-back Achraf Hakimi, center-back Sergio Ramos, and midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, PSG look like contenders for Europe’s ultimate club crown.
