Professional Call Of Duty Player, Huke, Admits to Using Adderall

Cuyler Garland, aka, Huke, admitted he used Adderall while competing in the Call of Duty League Championships (CDL). In a video posted to his YouTube channel, he said after winning the title in 2020 with Dallas Empire that he did not feel like celebrating.

“I won champs and I didn’t really feel good on the inside… Those couple days afterward I didn’t feel good, and it was mainly because of one thing. I ,at the time, was taking Adderall.”

Call of Duty is one of the most successful video game franchises of all time, and they have a professional league that features the best players from around the world. Like all sports leagues, there are rules, some that are about the actual game, and others are about protecting the players and the “sanctity of competition.”

Adderall is a prescription drug used by people with ADD and ADHD to help them focus, but it is banned in the CDL, and all players and organizations are made clear of all illegal substances. There is one big issue about having a list of banned drugs: You need to test for them. The CDL does not currently test their players because it is so expensive, so there is no real way to ever get caught.

I am pretty sure he is not the only one using some sort of stimulant in the CDL, and I don’t really fault them when they don’t even get drug tested. If it gives you an advantage, take it. The old saying, “If you ain’t cheating you ain’t trying,” exists for a reason. People try and find any way to get ahead. But hey, good for Huke for coming clean about it. He is a better man than Gerrit Cole, who lies about cheating.

ESports are not going anywhere soon, so the CDL needs to figure out how to enforce their rules better before there is no turning back.
