Gerrit Cole Basically Admitted To Cheating and Using Sticky Stuff
Baseball is such a difficult sport to being with, and it is even more difficult for hitters nowadays when pitchers like Gerrit Cole are cheating. In a press conference on Tuesday, Cole was asked by Ken Davidoff if he had ever used Spider Tack aka Sticky Stuff. His answer, or lack thereof, was extremely telling and incriminating.
At first listen I thought my phone stopped working, Cole took a few seconds before he could even come up with any sort of answer. Then he decided to blurt out one of the most ridiculous excuses these ears have ever heard.
“I don’t know if… I don’t quite… I don’t know quite how to answer that, to be honest. I mean… there are customs and practices that have been passed down from older players to younger players. I think there are some things that are out of bounds in that regard, and I have stood pretty firm in terms of that”

Dude the pitchers who cheated before you were using steroids, not some concoction of sticky shit you and your boys are cooking up in the locker room. It is no coincidence everywhere Gerrit Cole is he is attached to some sort of cheating scandal.
He was asked about Josh Donaldson’s comments about him, but Cole said he could not worry about that. Yeah, he has to “respectfully” worry about having to pitch without his Spider Tack to bail him out.
Yankee fans have been awfully quiet despite the fact they were the loudest about the Astros’ cheating, funny how stuff like that works. I am just happy the real king of New York Jacob deGrom, aka deGoat doesn’t need any sticky fingers to shut down lineups.
