The Pittsburgh Pirates Need to Be Sold
A few weeks ago, I wrote a blog about how Pittsburgh Pirates owner Bob Nutting needs to sell the team. I am not the only one who feels this way. Pat McAfee went on a rant around the time I published my article about Nutting’s disastrous ownership. 10 days later, another call went out from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette for Pirates fans to unite against the ownership and prompt a sale. All it takes is a quick Google search to find reading, more reading, and Change.org petitions with over 60,000 supporters imploring Bob Nutting to go away.

I hope this is something that Pittsburgh Pirates fans can get behind. The Buccos have the fourth-worst record in MLB and the third-worst run differential. Since their last postseason appearance in 2015, Pittsburgh has never finished within 12 games of the NL Central lead and has finished third, fourth, fourth, last, last, and last in those respective seasons. They are going nowhere fast. It’s remarkable that the Pirates had two starters in the 2021 All-Star Game (Bryan Reynolds, Adam Frazier) given that their owner is completely unwilling to spend money in free agency. The Pirates are Hostages. Go get a shirt and support the cause.
