The Pick Em Challenge continues on into Week Nine. It was not a good week for anyone not named Krieg, however, Chick is still in first place as he went 6-9 this week bringing his overall record to 73-64-1, Font is in second after an 8-7 week bringing his overall record to 68-66-1, and Krieg is in last after a 9-6 week bringing his overall record to 63-71-1. It was a rough week the fact I even went positive was shocking. A new week means a new slate and another chance to run the table.
Pick Em Challenge Thursday Night Football
Chick: Indianapolis -10.5

Thursday night football features a weird game to pick. The Jets are coming off a late-game win over the then first-place Bengals, while the Colts lost a heartbreaker to the Titans. I know Mike F’in White is on the field, however, the Jets are not the kind of team that will win back-to-back games like this.
Pick Em Challenge 1:00 PM Games
Chick: Houston +6.5
Krieger: Miami -6.5
Fontanello: Houston +6.5
The Texans didn’t move Deshaun Watson at the deadline which means that the cloud still hangs over the team. In the best form of comedic irony, they play the team that was most linked to a possible trade, the Dolphins. The Phins just haven’t looked good this year and I’m not sure they can be trusted to win any game by a touchdown.
Chick: Dallas -9.5
Krieger: Dallas -9.5

The Cowboys get Dak back this week and are hosting the Broncos who just traded Super Bowl 50 MVP Von Miller, essentially waving the white flag on their season. The Cowboys have covered in every game so far this year and I think this game especially gets ugly.
Chick: Baltimore -6

The Ravens are hosting the Vikings this week and the spread may be a bit high. However, Lamar Jackson is having a great season and the Vikings just can’t get out of their own way. Give me the Ravens all day.

The Panthers may get CMC back this week and that will make all the difference. Essentially this pick comes down to if CMC plays I would be all over the scorching hot Patriots in other circumstances. For now, I’m taking the Panthers unless something changes.

The Bills have the easiest schedule I’ve ever seen and that’s not a knock on them just funny how the NFL gives the Bills a cakewalk through nine weeks. However, good teams beat the crap out of bad teams so in that regard the Bills should take care of business against the Jags here.

The Bengals have to be infuriated Mike White decimated them last week. With everything going on with the Browns, I have to take the Bengals winning by less than a field goal.

The Saints are playing really well, mainly the defense coming off a win over the Bucs, normally I’d say let down spot. However, I don’t care who the QB is it’s a division game and the Saints won’t let this slip away.
Chick: Las Vegas -3

The Giants suck but that is the fan in me talking. The Giants are a good underdog bet especially with a west coast team coming east playing in the 1:00 PM window.

The Chargers have been in a slump recently, but they are gonna break out of it soon. They have the perfect get-right team in the Eagles to do it against. Take the Bolts here.

Jordan Love is starting after Aaron Rodgers got COVID. Normally, all sense would say take the Chiefs. However, the Chiefs cannot be trusted to win by more than a touchdown no matter who is under center.

The Cardinals only giving a point is a great bet. Coming off their first loss of the year you know they’re going to get right here regardless of which 49ers team shows up.
Sunday Night Football
Chick: Los Angeles Rams -7.5

The Titans just lost a full 33% of their offense with Derrick Henry going down. The Rams just got Von Miller and this is going to be a blood bath on Sunday night there’s no way one game after the Titans lose their MVP they’ll be competitive.
Monday Night Football
Chick: Pittsburgh -6.5
Krieger: Pittsburgh -6.5
Fontanello: Chicago +6.5
The Bears and Steelers have both been underwhelming teams through eight weeks. Nevertheless, I just don’t trust the Steelers to win by a full touchdown.
