Patriots Cut Jack Jones
You’re not going to believe this. I know this may surprise you but it turned out that the Patriots couldn’t fix the guy who decided to bring a gun to Logan Airport in Boston. I know… shocker. Bill Belichick really is losing his fastball.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo has reported that the Patriots will waive Jack Jones whom the team selected in the middle rounds of the 2022 NFL Draft.
“Certainly we want to thank the Patriot organization for drafting Jack,” Tooson said in a statement. “Jack is an immense talent and looks forward to making an immediate contribution on his next team as soon as Sunday.”
Jones, 22, was picked in the 4th round last year. That 2022 NFL Draft class by Belichick continues to kill the team. Jones is now no longer on the roster. The team reached for Cole Strange, who is mediocre at best. Tyquan Thornton also stinks.
Point being… Yes, the Patriots are bad. It’s also really hard to win games when you blow draft classes as consistently as Belichick has been doing for a multitude of years.
Talent really isn’t the problem. The guy is just a knucklehead. Jones reportedly missed curfew the night before the Patriots’ Week 9 loss to Washington. That’s on top of the gun thing. There are problem 30 other things that could be mentioned.
Jones was listed as a five-star player in high school. He also had two interceptions as a rookie. Time will tell if another team takes a flier on Jones. I would guess the answer will be yes just based on the fact that he’s young and not untalented.
