Patrick Mahomes looks to become NFL owner after career

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is regarded as one of the best players in the NFL. He will have a lengthy career filled with success, but what does Mahomes want after his NFL career is over? The two-time Super Bowl champion is looking to become an NFL owner after his career dims away.

Mahomes is no stranger to ownership. He not only owns Josh Allen in the playoffs, but he has a large amount of minority ownership in several sports. The 28-year-old quarterback holds minority ownership in multiple Kansas City sports franchises as well as a pickleball team in Miami.

“If I can get there, then I might settle down,” Mahomes said in his press conference, according to Pro Football Talk. “But they make it pretty tough to get to that spot.”

“I think Tom [Brady is] trying to do that right now, but that’s definitely where you want to get to because I love this sport and want to give back in any way possible when I’m done playing.

“Obviously, I’ll be a Chiefs fan. But at the same time, I want to have that competitive edge like I’ve always had my entire life.”

Mahomes isn’t the only quarterback looking to cash in on owning part of a franchise. University of Southern California star quarterback Caleb Williams has announced his next wild request–becoming a partial owner of the team that drafts him.

Luckily for any NFL owner who is willing to sell a stake in their beloved franchise, Mahomes will never be short on money. The future Hall-of-Fame quarterback is slowly increasing his bankroll each season. He added $211 million across the next four years of his career, the most money in a four-year span in NFL history.

Mahomes won’t be worrying about ownership anytime soon. His career is far from over. In fact, it’s only just the beginning.
