Parker Washington 2023 NFL Draft Profile

Parker Washington is a talented wide receiver prospect from Penn State University. Mitchell Tinsley is the other Penn State WR entering the draft, but Washington is viewed as the more gifted player. Let’s jump right into the Parker Washington 2023 NFL Draft profile!

At 5’10” and 204 pounds, Washington may not have the prototypical size of an NFL receiver, but he more than makes up for it with his impressive quickness and route-running ability. He is a dynamic playmaker who can create separation from defenders with his speed and agility, and his precise route-running allows him to consistently find open space on the field. A lot of that production came down the field on big plays. The Penn State product averaged 13.2 yards per reception for his entire career.

The route running and speed looks good for the most part. We don’t have a 40 time. I don’t think it would have been rocket fuel but a good overall time. Maybe one that would have been disappointing when you factor the size in. I don’t think he will outrun athletic corners but still someone who can beat you over the top.

Given the fact that Sean Clifford was the quarterback for his career, I think you will take these numbers. Over the last two years, Washington compiled 1,431 yards and six scores. You would like more red zone production but I’m just not sure that’s who he is. Very competitive with good hands but I’m not sure he’s got the suddenness to win those sticky red area routes.

The game against Ohio State really put him on the radar for me. The Buckeyes don’t have the quality corners they used to but Washington still beat the brakes off them. Obviously, something that should be considered a really good sign.

I like Parker Washington as a super late round flier but he’s someone that’s going to have to stick on special teams and continue to develop. I’m just not sure you’re ever going to get what you want. Doesn’t have the juice of a guy like Quez Watkins but his hands are more reliable.
